Retrolithic Idyll

It’s twenty years from now and climate change was a challenge that humanity didn’t rise to. Civilization has ended, population has crashed (a 99.98% wipeout), and Sara Sensenbrenner and her friends have grasped this chance to start over. Their goal? Set humankind out on a path that doesn't lead to violence, patriarchy, overpopulation, and ecological devastation (i.e., the next crash). Their solution? Become hunter-gatherers who have no idea about modern medicine, metal, writing, planting things, and keeping animals. If they succeed, accidents, infections, and death by childbirth will keep their numbers down, allowing Earth to magnificently rewild and for their descendants to live in peace in paradise for tens of thousands of years. Their problem? Culture. Every story they tell, every song they sing, and, indeed, their entire approach to everything is steeped in the assumptions, values, and fears of 15,000 years of owning property, tending flocks, and tilling the earth to survive. It's hard to shuck that. Then crisis strikes: They're found by a second small group of people and they don't agree.
How will Sara stop them from opening Pandora ’s Box and handing it to their children?
