How can an aristocrat—and former highwayman—go on living when everyone thinks he is dead?

Baron Christopher ‘Kit’ Conroy is hiding in Riverside Hall, the grand house situated on the estate belonging to his omega mate, Lord Aquilla ‘Quill’ Wentworth. The local sheriff, along with the rest of the county, assumes the alpha died just prior to him facing the hangman’s noose. Only Quill and two loyal servants know the truth.

But the sheriff, who had previously arrested Kit, presents the omega with a proposition. This puts Lord Wentworth in a quandary, one which will place him, his mate and their young son, Bart, in danger.

Long-hidden secrets are unlocked as Kit and Quill try to figure out a way forward, while not trusting themselves to reveal the truth to their mate. Looming in the background is Kit’s much-loathed half-brother, the earl, who, through a sleight of hand, changed Kit’s future. Not once. But twice.
