The Deepening is inspired by an Aztec prophecy: "If the four "Root Races" of people come together to teach each other, then an Age of Peace and Dignity will dawn, joyful beyond words." It follows the turbulent journeys of four unlikely representatives. Each must defeat their inner demons to complete the circle in fulfillment of the ancient prophecy.
