Publisher Description
Gypsy Lee Miller was in hot water after she figured out who killed art critic Marcus Pinter. She lured in the killer --not totally on purpose, but the murderer was still caught.
Her big transgression was doing a lot behind the backs of her boyfriend, Sgt Barn Butler, and her cousin and bakery co-owner, Linda. With her friend Tessa as a distraction of sorts, Gypsy Lee and Barn agree they don't want to feel awkward when they run into each other around town. Not.
Linda and Gypsy Lee decide to continue with the bakery and that they can trust each other on a day-to-day basis. Whatever happens, Gypsy Lee wants to earn back full trust.
Since then, summer's been busy and Bay View Harbor is preparing for Halloween with the annual costume in the parade.
The Chamber of Commerce picks as judges Bay View Harbor Inn owner Maggie Dunn and its own Leslie Russell, who has worked hard to help develop a group of townhomes behind the Inn. The hardware store owner broke his fingers and Gypsy Lee, as a citizen who helped solve a couple big crimes, will join the judge's box.
But is all development planning legit or will some of it try to bypass environmental regs that protect the Chesapeake Bay?
Does that have anything to do with why Leslie Russell ends up behind the elevated judges' stand after the parade -- with a broken neck? Gypsy Lee has to deal with Leslie's angry coworker and an ex-wife along with a former boyfriend. And she wants to do it without messing up her love life again.
