Michelle Frances charmed us with her debut The Girlfriend, and her second book, The Temp, treats us to a relationship just as twisted. Carrie is a high-flying TV executive at the top of her game when she discovers she’s pregnant. But Carrie needn’t worry about taking leave since her replacement seems so perfect, right? Every chapter of this thriller is taut, tense and packed with a nagging suspicion that just won’t go away.
