Lonely and desperate, Marcus Neill visits a brothel, searching for a taste of what he’s denied himself for years. Once there, his shame and scruples prevent him from taking a prostitute, so he turns to drink instead. Too drunk to defend himself, he is beaten, robbed, and left for dead on the street.
