(1) Unfortunately, the lawyers of the United States are working very hard to disprove this notion. Fortunately, I don't think they will succeed. We are all well aware of the consequences of the ever-escalating number of lawsuits and the disproportionately large awards to some plaintiffs--the rising costs of liability insurance, the reluctance of some specialists to continue performing high-risk procedures, etc.
