Verity Sparks and the Scarlet Hand

Castlemaine, 1880. Verity, Papa and her friends are holidaying in Castlemaine so Papa can catch up with old friends Mr Petrov and Mr Leviny. But their holiday peace is shattered when Mrs Petrov and Miss Deane are kidnapped. While they desperately wait for a ransom, Verity tries to use her gift to find clues to the identity of the kidnappers. Could it really be the Red Gauntlet, a notorious bushranger from ten years earlier? Why is Mrs Petrov’s brother behaving so oddly? Will Verity be able to find Miss Deane? And who is the mysterious woman who is following Verity? Is she connected to the kidnapping? What does she want? And why does she look just like Verity’s dead mother?
