Publisher Description

WE ALL NEED HEROES. Dr. Sakowski was one of my earliest childhood heroes. He was a general practitioner who was honored and loved by everyone in town. When we went to see him, it was a visit rather that an "appointment. We went to his home rather than his "office.' Sometimes, before we could squeeze Into his crowded living room/"waiting room," the whole family would spend time out on his front stoop. We would mingle with neighbors who were also bringing the good doctor their concerns and their warm glows of trust in his kindness. When we flowed into his home, we were Immersed in a more than mildly euphoric social event. It seemed like it no longer mattered that our throats were so sore we couldn't swallow, or that our ears hurt so much we could hardly hold back our tears. Being there was proof enough to us that all would soon be well.
