In the game of love…
Georgiana Lucas despises the arrogant and cruel Marquess of Westmorland even before learning that he’s won the deed to her friend Kitty’s home in a card game. Still, Georgiana assures Kitty the marquess wouldn’t possibly come all the way to Derbyshire to throw them out—until he shows up, bloody and unconscious. Fearing that Kitty would rather see him die, Georgiana blurts out that he’s her fiancé. She’ll nurse the hateful man back to health and make him vow to leave and never return. The man who wakes up, though, is nothing like the heartless rogue Georgiana thought she knew…
You have to risk it all
He wakes up with no memory of being assaulted—or of who he is. The bewitching beauty tending him so devotedly calls him Rob and claims she’s his fiancée even as she avoids his touch. Though he can’t remember how he won her hand, he’s now determined to win her heart. But as his memory returns and the truth is revealed, Rob must decide if the game is up—or if he’ll take a chance on a love that defies all odds.

How a blow to the head can change your life
This is the third book in the trilogy "The wagers of sin". I just loved it!
I started reading it and kept on reading it. And was quite sorry it ended
Why?
I loved the plot.
I loved the characters
I loved the writing
I loved the emotions
Georgiana is a sweet natured girl, whose parents died when she was young. No loving family. Just a hateful half brother but she has some loyal friends and a fiancé, she loved from an early age.
Rob or also Westmorland is the heir of the Duke of Rowland. He is a spoilt, arrogant, a rogue of the first order. Nothing likeable about him until he gets ambushed and left for death.
She is visiting a friend, Kitty, when a letter arrives to say that there was trouble between her husband and Westmorland.
But then it gets interesting: Georgiana saves Rob without knowing it is Rob. Only when she arrives at the house, she sees it is Westmorland. Afraid of the reaction of Kitty, she tells a lie. She claims it is her fiancé.
When Rob wakes up, he doesn't remember anything. He gets told he's Georgiana's fiancé. He noticed he was not the lost charling fellow. The more time he spends with Georgiana the more he starts growing feelings for her and she for him. She tries to hold her distance because she has a real fiance but Rob has become another man. He's funny, affectionate, galant. The complete opposite of whom he was before.
This part was so wonderful to read because ms Linden described the feelings of Rob so beautifully: man falling in love with a woman, not willing to give her up, not even after she told him the reasons why she lied, knowing that she is the one, knowing that he should let her go back to her real fiancé, knowing there could be more, so much more.
And then there is Georgiana. She also changes from a love stuck sweet girl to a woman, who is not afraid to go after what she wants and needs. She's willing to stand up to her half brother, who's a very dislikeable figure, ready to fight for her future.
Also the moment they get together, when making love, was filled with pure reverence, deep love and wonderful vows. How marriage vows can be made special!
I creceived an ARC for an honest review but I loved the book soooo much I also bought it!!!!
