Ganglion cysts that contain gelatinous fluid can occur in any joint or tendon with a tendon sheath, most often in the wrist or palm, but also in e.g. the shoulder and knee joints and in the distal tendon of the biceps muscle. A symptomatic ganglion can be treated by puncture or surgery.
