Cornelius Weygandt was born on December 13, 1871, in Germantown, Pennsylvania. He wrote over eighteen books in his life. As a child, he was an enthusiast and wanted to become a scholar. He had an interest in many topics of literature, among which was his interest about contemporary Irish literature. He became acquainted with many famous figures of the Irish literary world, which inspired and helped him in writing this book. Weygandt died in 1957, leaving behind him family who loved him and colleagues and students who respected.
