Training as a pilot fulfilled a lifelong dream for Kathy, but others didn't take her career choice as seriously. She wanted a chance to prove herself, but offers of work were thin on the ground, or came with conditions she didn't want.

She jumped at the chance of a contract flying role in Alice Springs, in the centre of Australia. Was it possible to be nervous and excited at the same time? A new life beckoned in flying for StationAir and she was determined to make the most of it.
 

Sarah

Life was mapped out for Sarah; keep working at StationAir, marry Dave, and perhaps eventually settle on the family pastoral property. For now, they loved the aviation community and it loved them. Then the bombshell dropped, and Dave's diagnosis put all their plans in jeopardy. Sarah wasn't fussed about the big wedding—she just wanted to be married to Dave. What were her chances?
 

Melissa

Melissa didn't mix much with people in Alice Springs. Living on a remote station with her father, her opportunities were limited. She'd made most of her friends while attending boarding school and they all lived in Sydney. Reserved or aloof? The town couldn't decide. It was easier for them just to ignore her.

Her passion was photography, but that didn't meet her father's expectations. She had always known that one day she would marry neighbor, Alex Woodleigh, but for now the bright lights and the camera lens held greater sway.
