Particles

This interactive book is a product of what started as a meaningful, collaborative task by students from  Central Memorial High School that brought together three different disciplines:  science, English and art.  The area of focus is the Periodic Table of Elements.  Each chapter focuses on one specific element.  The chapter will feature the scientific properties unique to it, the scientific history, and how it is used in our society.  In addition to this, there is a short story where the element is personified and pieces of art inspired by the science and English students.  There are interviews provided by the art and English students explaining their inspiration and understanding plus a number of other widgets and features students inserted to create an effective and inspiring piece of work.  This book not only allows its readers to develop an understanding for the Periodic Table of Elements, but shows how three seemingly different disciplines can be brought together in an inspiring way.
