Each Learner Counts

Publisher Description

Pequea Valley Intermediate School is located in rural Lancaster County. Approximately 250 learners in grades 7 & 8 attend Pequea Valley Intermediate School. We are a 1:1 school with each student having a MacBook Air assigned to them for use. The core curriculum includes ELA Reading, ELA Writing, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Social Studies, Science, and STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math). In addition to the core classes, PVIS learners also attend classes in Art, Music, Physical Education/Health. Prep for Success, and Foreign Language.

Our learners combine academic studies with social learning. We use Positive Behavior Interventions and Support common guidelines to create a school-wide focus at PVIS, we believe in Respect for Self, Respect for Others, and Respect for the World Around Us. These areas of focus create a learning environment that encourages good choices and consideration for all. As such, we were awarded the state wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support award.

We continually strive to reach our mission in proving that each student counts through our daily encouragement and support as we work toward meeting each student's individual needs.  Our goal is to provide a welcoming environment where parents and facilitators work cooperatively to maximize their child's success...
