Publisher Description

I was born on March 29th, 1993 in Des Moines, Iowa. As a child I just never seemed to get past having an imaginary friend. At the age of 15, I came to my mother and told her that I heard voices and saw imaginary people. Since then I have been in and out of psychiatric wards around Des Moines on several occasions. At the age of 18, I was officially diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic. Being a paranoid schizophrenic means I see people and objects that do not exist and I constantly feel as if people are judging me, tricking me, or lying to me.
I have people ask me all the time what it's like to see things that are not real. I could never explain it verbally, but I have always been able to show my feelings through paintings and writings.
Another sign of schizophrenia is confusing words with other meanings and jumbling up sentences while you say them. I show this sign when I talk sometimes and I confuse meanings in a few of my writings. I don't feel that this makes my writings bad. I actually believe that it adds too my writings and truly shows what I was feeling as I wrote them. This book is a collection of the writings I made while in the psychiatric wards and while trying to live a normal teenage life.
