Publisher Description
INTRODUCTION The Camp Shelby burrowing crayfish, Fallicambarus gordoni (Fitzpatrick, 1987), is a primary burrowing crayfish and a candidate species for protection under the United States Endangered Species Act. The species was nominated because of its limited range and habitat specificity. It is largely restricted to pitcher plant bogs in the upper Cypress Creek watershed and a small portion of Beaumont Creek watershed of the Camp Shelby Training Site in the De Soto National Forest, Perry County, Mississippi, USA (Fitzpatrick, 1987, 1991; Johnston and Figiel, 1997).
