Complete Educated Evans Series

The Complete Educated Evans Series by Edgar Wallace brings together three entertaining works featuring Evans, a cheerful, talkative London racing tipster whose confidence often exceeds his knowledge. Known for his humorous predictions, questionable expertise, and talent for getting himself into unexpected situations, Evans inhabits the lively world of horse racing, bookmakers, betting schemes, and colourful London characters.

In Educated Evans, readers meet Evans as he attempts to make his way through the unpredictable world of horse racing. His adventures bring him into contact with gamblers, suspicious characters, and people hoping to profit from racing tips. Although he often presents himself as an expert, his schemes and predictions lead to amusing complications.

More Educated Evans continues his adventures, introducing further betting escapades, sporting rivalries, romantic entanglements, and comic misunderstandings. In Good Evans, also published under the title The Educated Man, Evans encounters more opportunities and misfortunes as he pursues success and navigates the peculiar characters around him.

Unlike Wallace’s darker crime thrillers, these stories combine humour, sporting intrigue, and light criminal adventure. Evans’s lively personality and the unpredictable situations he encounters make the series an enjoyable choice for readers interested in classic British comic fiction and the colourful culture of early twentieth-century horse racing.
