Mosquitoes as Vectors for Disease
Descripción editorial
While most people are aware that mosquitoes are involved in the transmission of diseases among people or animals, very few have an appreciation for the relevant aspects of the mosquito’s life cycle, how they obtain the blood meals they need to survive, and how these processes are involved in the transmission of disease-causing microorganisms. This book addresses those points via engaging, interactive activities that inform people about two very relevant diseases, namely Zika infection in people and heartworm disease in companion animals.
