Parade's End

Parade's End by Ford Madox Ford consists of four related novels [Some Do Not; No More Parades; A Man Could Stand Up; The Last Post] set in England and on the Western Front during World War I. 


The novels chronicle the life of Christopher Tietjens, a brilliant government statistician from a wealthy landowning family who is serving in the British Army during World War I. At home, Tietjens is dealing with Silvia, his socialite wife along with an affair with Valentine Wannop, a high-spirited suffragette.


Parade's End is the basis for the popular BBC/HBO/VRT television miniseries.
