Darryl Edwards definitely knows how to get people moving while keeping it very fun. This book will definitely have you thinking about ways to get more movement into your life in a multitude of creative ways. Ultimately, I feel this book embodies the phrase, “work hard, play hard!”

A fun program for the whole family
This is my favorite fitness book!
I love the background information about play in the introduction. The main section consists of clear instructions (including photos of steps) for very fun movements interspersed with great scientific citations and words of wisdom. Very practical, to the point book, is an easy read. However, it is not supposed to be just read but rather to be your companion for 30 minutes a day to provide an all-inclusive fitness program to improve your strength, balance, mobility, range of motion, and speed. I found it to be a fantastic complement to the video course “Animal Moves Challenge”, which I have been doing for the past year and found it extremely effective and efficient. I love that this program was designed for busy people who want to make the most out of their time and experience joy with movement. I also like that modifications are provided to accommodate for various levels of fitness.
Simple, Fun and Profound
I've been a fan of Darryl's work for some time, but haven't had the opportunity to attend a workshop to learn the Primal Play method. This much anticipated book is the next best thing. The program is simple and the effect substantial in my case. You will be moving every day, some being more intense than others, and there are opportunities for free play and restoration/recovery as well. Given that each session lasts a maximum of 30 minutes or so, you might be tempted to simply add this to whatever you're already doing. I would encourage you to simplify things and spend the next 28 days following this program alone. I feel that you will more fully immerse yourself in the approach and movements, and be able to give yourself fully to each session, thus maximizing the opportunity to learn, grow and progress. And progress you will. What seems awkward at first becomes more and more natural, which is really the point. In addition to gaining strength, conditioning and mobility, you may find old aches and pains disappearing. In my case, a persistent shoulder pain disappeared after the first 4 sessions. Your results may vary, but I believe that anyone, regardless of current condition or age would benefit greatly from following the 28 day Animal Moves program. There's really nothing else quite like it.
