THE 30-DAY HEART TUNE-UP takes readers step by step through a revolutionary program to tune up their hearts, energy, waistlines, and sex lives, with 60 delicious recipes to help jump-start a heart-healthy diet. Cardiovascular disease is the #1 killer of Americans today. But, the good news is that everyone-regardless of size, genetics, gender, or age-can treat arterial plaque and prevent heart attacks and strokes with this book. The keys to the program are shrinking arterial plaque, improving circulation, and strengthening your heartbeat. The tools in this book include heart-healing foods, exercise that strengthens the heart and arteries, stress management, and a customized heart-friendly supplement plan. THE 30-DAY HEART TUNE-UP program is easy, fast, and could even be called sexy. Dr. Masley devotes a chapter to showing how improving heart health enhances sex drive and function in both men and women.
Who wouldn't jump at the chance to feel healthier, sexier, trimmer, and mentally sharper in just 30 days? In his latest book, Masley (Ten Years Younger) looks at cardiovascular disease and advises readers on how to turn back the clock by reducing formed arterial plaque and how to prevent plaque buildup. Keys to success are improving diet, exercise, and stress management. With nuts, berries, avocados, and chocolate included in this plan, and over 50 recipes, readers need not worry about being deprived. Adding a phased exercise plan, most of which can be implemented from home and does not require much gear or machinery, is essential. While both diet and exercise will help reduce stress, reducing stress will also increase the benefit of diet and exercise; sleep quality, relaxation routines, and biofeedback resources are explored. Masley promises that by following this plan, readers can "enjoy a heart ten years younger than when started" a worthy goal for anyone with cardiovascular health concerns.

Good book overall
Good book overall but a few concepts are outdated given the latest research. I liked the recommendation to get a carotid IMT test. Good tip. Did not like recommendation to not eat good saturated fats. Why not? Butter, cheese, and beef are great for your heart health. Have you read recent Time magazine article called Eat Butter (or something like that).
I would recommend book to others but warn them not to believe assertion that sat. fats are bad for you. Have a good day.
