Do not let other reviews sway you. These characters are as imperfect and flawed as we are. I believe it makes them relatable and draws us in, even if we know their choices are just plain wrong. Just keep reading! In the end, everything will fall into place. I absolutely adore this series. It’s messy and scary, dark and chaotic. It’s absolutely beautiful! As an empath, I can’t help but outright bawl while reading, but that tells me how good the story is. The characters evolve throughout this story as they learn lessons. I rarely take the time to read a whole series twice, but here I am doing so, and will probably read them again in the future. Just…. BRAVO!

I have never wanted the main character to not be the main character more than Tessa. If the author was intending to make her as annoying as possible, she more than succeeded. I legitimately like almost every other character and they are each well developed. But Tessa's character is incredibly infuriating and whiny. I never stopped reading a book series before but not even Luka can keep me reading.
