When Carved Wood Whispered to Stone

Heroes are not born.

They rise to the occasion when the world is in chaos.

At the Crooked Plum Inn, some travellers seek a bed for the night, whilst others come to hear tales that have long since become legends.

When the old storyteller Bai Xu begins to speak on a rainy evening, the guests gather to hear of a man whose name still echoes through the mountains of Yunxia: Chen Long.

Warrior. Wanderer. Legend.

Yet legends rarely tell the whole truth. Whilst Bai Xu recounts tales of battles and honour, far from the inn, the healer Yao Yun is fighting her own battle. Scarred by personal loss and driven by a quest whose purpose is known only to her, her path eventually crosses that of the legendary warrior.

In a world full of forgotten truths and deep shadows, it soon becomes clear that some encounters have far greater consequences than they first appear.

*When Carved Wood Whispered to Stone* is an English-language novel inspired by the spirit of Wuxia. A story of honour, memory and those encounters from which legends are born.
