The Camp at Forks

A detective reopens a cold case from a remote logging camp on the Olympic Peninsula, interviewing the people who worked there decades ago. Eleven years after a cook vanished from Camp Bogachiel, a hunter's discovery in a cave sets in motion a methodical investigation into what happened in those woods. Through careful reconstruction, witness by witness, a detective pieces together the small things people noticed but never spoke aloud, the kindnesses that quietly sustained a community, and the silence that can protect a secret for thirty years. In the Pacific Northwest wilderness, where logging camps operate far from town and men work in isolation, the truth emerges slowly, interview by interview, from people who have carried their suspicions in quiet for decades.
