Helping the Gen Z Generation

A Baby Boomer's Honest Message to Gen Z — From Someone Who Made It and Knows Why You Can't Do It the Same Way

By age 30, Jack Jay was a self-made millionaire. He started with $200, a pair of pliers, and the overnight shift at a Long Beach gas station, and built a thousand-machine vending business one quarter at a time. He's the first to tell you the path he took no longer exists.

This is a book for Gen Z from someone who refuses to insult you with "if I can do it, you can do it." Jack knows the deck is stacked differently now — college degrees that don't pay off, AI replacing entry-level and senior jobs alike, housing prices detached from reality, and a political class too busy fighting itself to fix anything. He pushes back, hard, on commentators like Ben Shapiro who blame your generation for circumstances his never had to face.

But this isn't a book of complaints. It's a survival guide.

Inside you'll find:

Creative income ideas that don't require capital, a degree, or a viral moment — mobile auto service in the suburbs, custom design for the ultra-wealthy, original cuisine for clients who can pay

Honest talk about drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes from someone who tried them all in the rock-and-roll era and walked away for good

A working philosophy of patience over instant gratification — the one lesson he wishes someone had given him at 20

Health and fitness as an investment, not vanity — including why BMI is junk science and what to measure instead

A clear-eyed look at capitalism, oligopoly, and what your generation will inherit, drawn from his forthcoming book The Death of Capitalism

A direct answer to anger, depression, and despair — not toxic positivity, but realism: what you actually control, and how to use it

Jack writes the way he'd talk to you across the table at a diner — funny, blunt, occasionally off the rails, never preachy. He grew up surviving a difficult home, depression, and a generation's worth of bad advice. He isn't pretending to have all the answers. He's offering the ones he wishes he'd had.

Your youth is the one thing the richest men on earth would trade everything for.

Don't waste it.
