The 13 Towers: The Mercenary with the Broken Heart

Heartbreak is a curious thing. It is something we all endure, and yet, each break feels different. For our mercenary, already lonely from being the only non-magic user on a caravan with the First Chair of the Conservatory and the former Water General of the Citadel, heartbreak means believing the man you love chose someone else.

In The Mercenary with the Broken Heart, Fiy journeys to the capital of Elbereth. Lady Slaxarine and Madame Tarene are there to teach him to defend himself, both physically and politically, but it may not be enough to save him from a city where magic is around every corner. All Fiy has to defend himself is his goofy smile and long limbs. Perhaps he can find another man to help him solve his problems and his heartbreak…
