Between Gates and Clouds

Between Gates and Clouds

What if the person sitting beside you on an ordinary flight could change the way you see your entire life?

Nora Bennett has learned to travel light—not only with one carry-on and a battered leather notebook, but with her heart. At thirty-two, she has become accustomed to leaving before anyone can ask her to stay. She likes having an exit, a plan, and enough distance to protect herself from disappointment.

Then, on a flight from San Francisco to Boston, she takes seat 18A.

Beside her is Daniel Reed, a restoration architect from Portland who notices the details most people overlook. What begins with a struggling suitcase and playful conversation slowly becomes something neither of them expected. Somewhere above the clouds, two strangers begin sharing the truths they usually keep hidden.

But a flight eventually lands.

As their paths cross again, the connection that began between two airplane seats becomes harder to dismiss. Distance, timing, fear, old wounds, and the question of whether two people can choose to stay when leaving has always felt safer begin to test what they have found.

Between Gates and Clouds is a contemporary romance about unexpected connections, emotional vulnerability, second chances, and the courage to stay when the easiest choice is to disappear.
