The Heir Beneath Blackmere House

Blackmere House has always remembered four children. The family history remembers only three.

When Mara Vale is asked to review the estate of the late Edmund Blackmere, the problem appears to be documentary: an old settlement refers to four surviving issue, while the accepted family tree records only three descendants. Then Mara finds the same discrepancy repeated in household inventories—four allocation marks, a mysterious J.B., and repeated references to a room that no longer officially exists.

At Blackmere House, the mystery becomes harder to dismiss.

Objects connected to the old North Room begin moving on their own. A silver writing box returns to a locked nursery. An empty fourth chair appears with a card marked NORTH ROOM. And the house seems to distinguish between what someone possesses, what they merely hold in custody, and what the records say belongs to them.

As Mara and Daniel reconstruct the Blackmere family record, they uncover a missing branch of inheritance, documents that were softened or simplified across generations, and a long-standing effort to keep one person from being carried forward in the family story.

But Blackmere House has not forgotten.

And before the estate can be divided, Mara must determine whether the missing heir was truly erased—or deliberately hidden.

The Heir Beneath Blackmere House is Book 3 in the Vale Inheritance Mysteries, an atmospheric paranormal mystery about inheritance, buried family history, shifting ownership, and the dangerous difference between what a house contains and what truly belongs to it.
