The secret wife of the Duke

A mysterious woman arrives at the castle of Saint Denis, in the heart of Languedoc, demanding an audience with the powerful Count of Rennes and Hainaut. Clad in a threadbare nun's habit, she makes a shocking claim: she is his wife.

The count is convinced the poor woman has lost her mind. His wife died years ago—or so he has always believed. Yet there is something hauntingly familiar about the stranger's face, something that stirs memories of a love he has never truly forgotten.

Could this woman be the lady who once captured his heart, the secret wife he believed lost forever? Is she the mysterious prisoner from the tower, returned from the shadows of the past? Or is she a cunning impostor bent on destroying his life and claiming his title?

As long-buried secrets begin to surface, the count must confront a past that refuses to remain buried. But if the woman is telling the truth, the greatest betrayal may be the one he has lived with all along.
