Publisher Description
From King of Ashes to Queen of Storms, it’s all built up to this—the thrilling conclusion to legendary New York Times bestselling author Raymond E. Feist’s epic Firemane saga.
War has swept across Marquensas. Ruthless raiders have massacred the inhabitants of Beran’s Hill, including Gwen, the beloved wife of Declan Smith. Hollow of heart, his hopes burned to ashes, Declan swears to track down and destroy the raiders, an ambition shared by Baron Daylon Dumarch, whose family was massacred as they fled the capital.
Meanwhile Hava, whose gift for piracy has seen her acquire the treasure ship Borzon’s Black Wake and the swift Azhante sailing vessel, Queen of Storms, and won her the name of “the Sea Demon,” is closing in on the whereabouts of those who unleashed the murderous hordes.
Her husband, Hatushaly, the last remaining member of the ruling family of Ithrace, the legendary Firemanes, seeks to control the magical powers he has inherited. He is able now to visualize and even travel among the filaments of energies that power all existence: the furies. But will he be able to channel his magic in time to combat the deepest, darkest threat the world of Garn has ever faced?
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Feist brings all his hallmarks—medieval-esque warfare, magical instruction, and strong family bonds—to bear in the satisfying conclusion to his Firemane Saga series. Following Queen of Storms, the forces of the Pride Lords from the continent of Nytanny have wiped out most settlers on the western edge of North Tembria, including the wives of Baron Daylon Dumarch and ironworker Declan Smith. Both men seek revenge, with Declan setting sail for a secret island where he can collect a special sand to forge an invincible blade and Daylon and his half brother, Balven, building up their army. Meanwhile, Hatushaly, last scion of the Firemane kings and heir to vast power, takes instruction from a mysterious visitor, as his wife, Hava, sails the seas, ferrying survivors to Sanctuary, news to Marquensas, and spies to Nytanny, all in preparation for an invasion. Feist does a fine job balancing skirmishes and battles with quieter moments of tutelage, espionage, and basic survival, and takes time as he wraps things up to tie the world of this series to others he's created—a connection that won't surprise fans. A late reveal points to further adventures for his characters, which readers will welcome. It's a fittingly rip-roaring finale.

Loved it!
Little bit of an anticlimactic ending but the whole story was so good! Hopefully there is another book
Horrible.
I’m so confused. I’ve read a ton of other books by Feist and they were all great. This whole entire trilogy was a flop. I almost didn’t finish this last book and I’ve only done that twice in my life. It was painful. I kept checking back to make sure that it wasn’t another author that was spelled similar to Feist. It felt like this series was written by a teenager (and one that’s not good at writing books). Some of the situations and ways that the characters responded were just silly or ridiculous. I literally couldn’t have cared less if most of the characters in the series died or not. It definitely had potential but didn’t even come close to realizing it.
A Joy to read
I truly enjoyed this book immensely. The entire series really. One of the first fantasy books I ever read was Magician’s Apprentice decades ago. I completely fell in love with all things Midkemia. Eventhough I saw it coming, just seeing the names Magnus and Pug at the end brought tears of nostalgia to my eyes.
