"Employer. Best friend. Who in her right mind would rock that boat, even if he were interested? Even though he's perfect…"
Drum tech Kimmy Baker has been on the road with Smidge for six years, and she never wants to leave the band or concert tour life, but it seems incompatible with finding love. In any case, no one could compare to Dice, her drummer and best friend.
She's always been careful not to jeopardize their friendship or her job by crossing any lines, even though he's hot and sweet and shares her sense of humor and all her deepest secrets... except for one.
When she accidentally reveals that she wants to have a baby, he offers his DNA in trade for help with a secret of his own. It's an irresistible proposition, especially when she suspects he might have a hidden dominant side. But as deeper feelings come into play, they'll have to decide if they're friends or lovers.
Will her intention to keep her promise of no strings conflict with his traditional impulses?
Is she meant to have forever with her rock icon?
Fall in love with the rock stars of Smidge... Rock Icon Ready is the third book in this series of interconnected standalone novels following each band member as they find their happily-ever-afters.

Smidge is back!
Smidge is back! I cannot even begin to tell you how thrilled I was when I discovered that this author had a new rock star romance releasing! This book did not disappoint with its original storyline and captivating cast of characters. Rock Icon Ready is a friends-to-lovers rockstar romance with a somewhat forbidden element given that Dice is a famous drummer and Kimmy is under his employ as his drum tech. There is also a small reverse age gap element as well which I liked.
One of the things that I love about this author is her penchant for creating strong female protagonists that are fiercely independent and have unique professions. As for Dice, I enjoyed the fact that he was not your stereotypical playboy rockstar. He has his edges, but he is also sweet and compassionate. Both Dice and Kimmy’s characters were relatively well developed individually, but I do think the relationship between them could have been more flushed out. They were supposedly best friends for several years, but there were communication challenges that of course lended itself to some drama in the novel. That being said, the angst was minimal and the combination of steam and drama was perfectly balanced.
Told from Kimmy’s POV, it took me some time to get used to the third person writing, but I think the story been told in this manner worked well. Rock Icon Ready is the first book in this author’s Smidge series and it can be read as a standalone. It was a real treat to see the characters from the previous two books and I am very much looking forward to whatever this author has in store for the rest of the Smidge crew!
