Descrição da editora
The Acts of the Apostles is the only historical record of what happened in the years immediately after our Lord’s ascension. As such, it is the best commentary on the letters written during the Acts Period, explaining and illustrating some of the passages in those epistles.
However, some people think that the people of Israel lost their special place in the plan of God when they rejected and crucified Christ, but is that correct? There is also confusion, in some minds, as to what ‘kingdom’ is referred to in Acts 1:6. Then again, some state that the Pentecost recorded in Acts 2 is the ‘birthday of the church’, meaning the birthday of the ‘Gentile’ church of today … yet there was not one Gentle present!
A key passage to a better understanding of these three issues, and others, is Acts 3:17-21 – a passage that is frequently overlooked.
