Descrição da editora

The December Plague swept through the human population of Earth. The Infected were driven mad by the disease, becoming violent and cannibalistic, killing even those closest to them without hesitation. Two years later, a cure was found and the Infected began to wake up and realize what they'd done. And what had been done to them. This remastered collection of the complete first series includes newly updated and extended versions of both the novels and short stories in the After the Cure world and the brand new novella Moxie.

After the Cure: Psychiatrist Nella Ryder has been working with the Cured for years, trying to help them recover their memories. But when she is chosen by the court to interview Dr. Robert Pazzo, she is uncertain exactly who she will encounter. Her task is to determine whether he's is stable enough to be tried for developing the December Plague, not decide whether he's guilty. But when she meets Pazzo's Cured defense attorney Frank Courtlen, it only fuels her need to know how the whole disaster began.
The Cured: Henry Broom spent eight years chained to a fence post, starving, enraged and unable to reason past the rampant infection of the December Plague. Released at last from his leash, he wakes up Cured in a remote farmhouse. Piecing together his memories to make sense of the silent world, he finds his way to the City in hopes of safety and help. But Henry cannot forget the vulnerable little girl who freed him.
Krisis: Ruth has never heard of the Cure, though she spent years searching for one in hopes of helping her son. Her friend Juliana cares for dozens of Infected, keeping them in a run-down hospital on the edge of town. Resources are dwindling, Juliana's health is failing, and the firebrand Father Preston, wants to take over care of the Infected. Ruth doesn't want the task, but when she discovers Father Preston's motives aren't as kindly as he pretends, she decides to take action.
Poveglia: An accident at the power plant seems a minor news story. Sevita Das, the City's favorite reporter, expects the plant manager to tell her that one of the old parts needs replacing, a difficult task in the aftermath of the plague, but not unusual. But when she arrives at the power plant at the same time as a truck full of soldiers in biohazard suits, Sevita knows something much worse has occurred.
The 40th Day: Henry and his colony know what it means to be Infected. He doesn't want to harm people who could still be cured, but protecting his small group may require it. Without modern medicine, electricity or hope of outside aid, the only resort is quarantine. But when even that proves not to be enough to protect the remaining healthy population, a tiny group of Infected race against their own bodies to destroy the Plague at its source.
Also included the short stories:
Curing Khang Yeo
Pet Shop
Andy and Igor
And the new novella:
Moxie: The scavenging teams are the City's lifeline, venturing beyond the large barrier to retrieve supplies from the old world. Food, medicine, clothing, tools- everything the City can't produce itself, the scavengers battle the Infected to find. Talulah's watched most of her friends die in the effort. So when the governor sends word that they are to gather as many Infected as possible and dose them with a potential cure, she is skeptical and angry. She agrees to try for Noah, her partner's sake. When the Infected begin waking up, Talulah begins to realize things aren't as simple as she once believed.
