After retiring from an exhausting career in Clinical Psychology, Alyson Hope Derby was looking for a peaceful retreat to settle down and write her first book. In the sleepy, coastal town of Stonington Maine, she fell in love with an obscure cabin perched above the bluffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

From the beginning it became clear there was more to this home than she could have ever imagined. Local folklore contained an ominous, cautioning narrative that would soon introduce itself through Alyson's vivid nightmares.
