No, don’t even talk to me about it. I’m a heart surgeon, not some fly-by-night playboy that sleeps with every chick that I meet. In fact, I don’t even date, not that my schedule suggests it, anyway. Especially when I’m playing double-time, dressing up as Santa Claus for the hospital, and for the Ford brothers. But when Ginger comes into the picture, showing up seemingly to meet with her nurse friend, India, there are moments when I wish that she was more than just a coworker’s pal. When she witnesses me at a weak moment, she sees something in me that nobody else has seen before. And then I learn something about her that both freaks me out and makes me wonder why God hasn’t brought her to me sooner…and I don’t know how to deal with it.

I fly to Sweden with him, even though India tells me I’m crazy. But it’s for business, as I keep telling myself. It’s always been about business with me, and, evidently, with Chad, too. Until we do something akin to a movie scene about the mile high club, and all bets are off. Chad doesn’t want me any more than I want him. We both have our careers to think about, and he has the added bonus of trying to save lives. But something has crossed over in both of us, and there’s no turning back. Except when someone’s heart is at stake…and this time Chad doesn’t know how to fix it…because it’s not something that can be fixed with surgery, since it’s a matter of the heart…and it’s his own heart, too.
