Curse of Sensibility

A cursed man. A gifted musician. An obsession that won't let either escape.

For generations, the men of the Willoughby family have married for money and paid for it in misery. Each loveless union has deepened the family's ruin, while the screams of a woman betrayed centuries ago echo through Allenham Estate, haunting Charles Willoughby.

Only one thing silences the screams for him: Cello music played by wealthy heiress Sarah Augustine. Willoughby is convinced she is the key to ending Jane Austen’s curse, but their whirlwind secret romance is over. Sarah’s family made sure of it, and now she wants nothing to do with the man whose fascination borders on obsession.

Then Sarah receives a career-defining invitation to perform at Allenham Estate’s legendary music room. The crumbling manor promises perfect acoustics, creative solitude and, best of all, an assurance that Willoughby will be an ocean away. It is a temptation she cannot refuse.

And one she will come to regret…

At Allenham, the mirrors seem to stare back. There are sounds behind the walls. Phantom images of a past long forgotten torment and tease. When she tries to leave the isolated estate, her car won’t start—she is trapped. And worst of all, she senses Willoughby's presence, convinced he is near. Stalking her. Haunting her.

She’s right.

For Willoughby, the true curse is a life without her. As the screams drive him mad, he will stop at nothing to possess her and the sweet silence her love brings, even if it tears Allenham down around them both.
