As captain of the wagon train heading west along the Oregon Trail, Luke takes his duty seriously. The sudden appearance of a dark-haired, green-eyed, beautiful woman unlike anyone he's ever met before throws his thoughts into turmoil.  But, he has no intention of letting her get to him. He's determined to continue punishing himself for his role in the death of his wife and baby.
