This is not the Dracula of Hotel Transylvania
The origin of Count Dracula is really very different from what I expect. The way the story is told, through diary entries and letters, is a nice way to see everybody’s perspective. There is no Alucard and Simon this time, but Van Helsing is present and very different from his Hellsing version. The remaining characters are all great too, and the way they interact with Dracula in this constant battle, discovering every time one thing more about the vampires and the way to deal with them, is amazing.
This great classic opened the way to the vampires and all the subsequent books, movies and games about them. And even with so much new content available, this book still is worth reading. 9/10
