A raging blizzard leaves the threesome stranded in knee-deep snow in a small town.

They're trapped in trouble, too, but they know what that looks like.

Two troubled young people might be on the wrong side of the law, or they could be confused wayfarers railroaded into doing someone else's dirty work.

It's up to Friday's extra-cold nose to sniff things out before the town shuts down and crime takes over.

Private Eye Jim Nash is called on to help an old friend locate his missing daughter.

But is she really missing?

Jim learns she has a boyfriend, and suspects she might be on a romantic getaway. Final exams are coming up, and he feels it's an excellent opportunity to combine romance and study.

They don't know it yet, but Friday is along for the ride of his life, all because of a chance encounter in a coffee shop.
