Five Get Into a Fix

Recovering from terrible winter colds, Julian, Dick, Anne, George, and Timmy the dog are sent away to a beautiful, snow-covered wooden chalet in the remote Welsh mountains. Surrounded by pristine white slopes, they are looking forward to a peaceful holiday filled with skiing, tobogganing, and sitting by roaring fires. They soon befriend a wild, barefoot mountain girl named Aily, who wanders the freezing hills with her loyal dog and a tiny, fluffy pet lamb.

But the freezing mountains hide a deep, dangerous secret. High on the snowy peaks sits the terrifying, heavily guarded mansion known as Old Towers, built directly over an ancient mine. When the Five feel violent, unnatural tremors shaking the ground and see bizarre, unearthly lights glowing in the sky above the towers, they know something highly illegal is happening! Plunged into a terrifying mystery involving strange, highly magnetic rocks and a trapped old woman, the children must brave freezing blizzards and pitch-black icy caverns to uncover the truth before the ruthless criminals silence them forever!
