Indigenous Film with an Emphasis on Disney
Descrição da editora
This book is made up of elements from the course ENG 445C which is offered at Northern Arizona University. The topic of the course is Indigenous studies within film. The following elements and chapters contain course work that was accomplished throughout the course of the semester. This book begins with a reflection regarding the class from the perspective of my major. This is placed first to introduce the reader into my own personal schema in order for a better understanding of how I approached the pieces in this book as well as to understand the class more. Second in the book are my film and book reviews. These cover the film The Return of the Sacred Pole as well as the book Indigenous Aesthetics, Native Art, Media and Identity. These are placed before the rest of my materials because they are less related to other elements in this book. Following these elements are several pieces regarding the same topic (the film Pocahontas) which are: A cultural background essay, an annotated bibliography, my research essay, and finally my multi-media component which also directly relates to this topic. All of these materials are originally created and display my work within the course.
