The first time I saw her was across the room at a bar. I had no idea at the time that she was only sixteen. The last time, the time that I decided enough was enough, was when I saw her at my bar eight weeks after I’d been set free.
Unlucky for her, I’d stopped being a good guy about two seconds after those bars closed behind me twelve years ago. Now all that was left was a shell of a man that didn’t see the good in anything. Anything except for her.

Angst, heartbreak and awesomeness
I’ve always enjoyed reading Lani’s books, but it was with this series that she cemented as one of my go-to authors. I know must look like a broken record by now, but with every book she releases in the Souls Chapel Revenants MC series it seems to get better and better, if that’s even possible. It’s a mix of suspense romance, lots of love and steamy scenes, there’s always a mystery, an alpha hero and a badass leading lady!
Trick and Swazye met at a bar when he had just returned from deployment. Trick was enchanted by her from the moment they saw each other and their connection was instant. He didn’t know she had just turned 17, but when she’s beat down to almost death but her own dad, their lives changes in an instant. He goes to jail for killing her dad and it’s sentenced by a corrupt city for 12 years in prison. Swazye in the other hand vows to go to law school and make a change of the system.
Ten years later they’ve met again, in another turn of events, only proving that they were destined to be together. There’s a saying that absence makes the heart grow fonder and although they try to deny their feelings, fate has another thing coming. I was cheering for them from the beginning and I was obsessed with their friendship and their love, how they would do anything to protect each other. Don’t even let me start about the steamy scenes, hot!
I thought my heart was shattered in the beginning of the book, but nothing prepared me for the twist in the end. I was left hanging, my heart on the floor and tears in my eyes. I loved how the Souls Chapel team rallied to support this couple, they are truly a complex family. Trick and Swazye finally had their deserved happy end and I adored it so much! This whole series is a must read.
