‘Maariyah’ is primarily set in a small seaside town in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The story is based on true life events, influenced by traditions, faith and overwhelming obstacles, but in the end, it’s about overcoming it all. Maariyah becomes exactly what she believes, the choices she makes resonates throughout her life.
