The Oz books are a collection of fourteen children's books written by L. Frank Baum and other authors. The series revolves around the magical Land of Oz, which is introduced in the first book, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." This book tells the story of Dorothy, a young girl who is transported to Oz by a tornado and embarks on a journey to find a way back home. Along the way, she meets the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and Cowardly Lion, who become her friends and help her on her quest. The series continues to follow Dorothy and her companions as they go on more adventures in Oz, encountering new friends and enemies along the way.

A Strangely Good Collection

I’ve already talked about most of these books in theirs respective pages, so in this one I will make my top 14 Oz books! Here it is:
14 Tik-Tok of Oz (book 8)
Even being the worst book, it is still very good. I just didn’t like Betsy Bobbin and her Mule
13 The Patchwork Girl of Oz (book 7)
Ojo and Scraps did went in a peculiar journey, but what happened in previous book, Emerald City of Oz, made this one look bland
12 Glinda of Oz (book 14)
The war in the Gilikin country and the submerged city were interesting events. However for a last book there isn’t a real ending.
11 Tin Woodman of Oz (book 11)
The past of Nick Chopper is explored and fun to see. The creature made with his and Tin Soldier’s body parts? Not so much.
10 Magic of Oz (book 13)
The magic word is extremely overpowered and never again used and by this motive alone I’ve put this book in such a low position.
9 The Marvelous City of Oz (book 2)
A great book that ended up putting the almost Dictator Ozma in power. I hate her.
8 Scarecrow of Oz (book 9)
Cap’n Bill and Trot, Jinxland and the overthrowing of a bad king. This book is awesome
7 Lost Princess of Oz (book 11)
An adventure without Ozma is a good adventure. Plus the antagonist almost won.
6 Ozma of Oz (book 3)
The first battle against Ruggedo was epic! And Ev too!
5 The Road to Oz (book 5)
Various amazing characters like Shaggy man and Polychrome, together with Dorothy, going through an adventure towards Oz where a party happens and more amazing characters gather. It couldn’t go wrong!
4 Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz (book 4)
The return of the Wizard and an underground adventure made this one of the most enjoyable Oz Books. For me at least!
3 Rinkitink of Oz (book 10)
A boy a King and a goat against marauding warriors? Ridiculously good 👍
2 The Wizard of Oz (book 1)
The classic one that everybody knows and loves, that made me start to read all of these books and that serves as the foundation of this enormous franchise.
1 Emerald City of Oz (book 6)
The intended final book of Oz, the one with double plot that follows Dorothy bringing her family to Oz in one side and Guph recruiting allies to help in the invasion of Oz in the other. There are old characters reappearing and new ones emerging; adventure and an eminent threat, all together with an excellent ending . The best book in my humble opinion.
Last but not Least, the 6 short stories in the end were funny but not remarkable enough.
