Sensing Our Planet

NASA Earth Science Research Features 2014

Descrição da editora

Sensing Our Planet features research that used data from NASA Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) data centers. Many of the stories for 2014 spotlight how satellite and ground observations can help us understand Earth’s water cycle, including rainfall patterns, sea ice, and ocean currents and salinity. Other stories describe how remote sensing allows scientists to follow zebra migrations in Botswana, or discern the relationship between fire and plants. Researchers are also using the data to tweak the qualities of tea leaves in India, analyze ancient seabed microbes, explore connections between volcanoes and earthquakes, and investigate new ways to find cosmic dark matter.
