Barney and Hillary Dew are homesteaders who have spent their lives being good neighbors and delivering meals to elderly shut-ins. Unfortunately, when an ornery acquaintance is no longer among the living, they're suspected of committing a crime.

Taking matters into their own hands, Barney and Hillary temporarily delay the murder investigation. When the sheriff and his deputies show up to process the crime scene, the Dews realize that they've made themselves look guilty. And the only way to clear their names is to find the real killer.
