I don't know how she does it. I've read more than 100 books by Melissa and every single one of them surprises me in a good way. I had met Mads several times in previous books and I knew her story would be a fun one - what a badass, fun, complex heroine! I also knew that she'd need an equally badass and complex hero and, oh boy!, does Tobias deliver! They're pure fire together! At the same time, I got teary-eyed a few times, cheering for them and for Tobias to find some peace in his heart.
Melissa cranked up the spice a bit in this one and I was so there for the ride.
Like always, we get to catch up with beloved characters: the Wickeds are all there, Dixie makes a short appearance and the Dark Knights are doing their thing, driving Mads bonkers.
A moving story with lots of all the Melissa goodness we've come to love!
