Tripping The Light Fantastic

I have four friends who possess Alien technology that gives them the gift of time travel. This is the story of how they came across said Alien technology. It's Christmas 1968 and Apollo 8 is on it's way to the moon. Five teenagers are intent on a good Christmas night partying in the local woods. PC Trout is on duty when he is called out to a UFO sighting in the woods. Is this an Alien visitation?
