Two Mangers, One Cross, and The Resurrection

Two Mangers, One Cross, and The Resurrection is an anthology of four one act plays performed in various settings to help churches or schools celebrate the birth of our Savior, his sacrifice for all of us on the cross, and the importance of his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

The first of the two Christmas plays, How the Dude Saved Christmas and Got His Ringtone is a modern play off of A Christmas Carol with a guardian angel, the Dude, working to show a teenage boy the true meaning of Christmas. In the second play, Where are you Christmas, a desperate father of three tries to show his children the true meaning of Christmas.

Were You There? Is a series of four monologues tied together by the traditional hymn “Were You There”. It presents the crucifixion of Jesus from four different perspectives, the maker of the nails which pierced Jesus’ hands, a woman, a temple prostitute who heard of Jesus through Mary Magdalene and sought redemption from Jesus, a young boy hired to clean the courtyard where Jesus was scourged, and a Roman Guard in charge of the tomb. All four share their testimonies regarding what they saw.

The final piece was performed during the Easter 2020 service and presents three different stories regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and how the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus impacts us all.
